A voice in the wilderness

Forever Still

Forever Still is a music video I wrote and directed as my special project in the final semester of my Journalism program at College of the North Atlantic.

The song was written by Robyn Terry, who also performs the song, and Peter Green who produced the recording.

I originally planned to do a short film version, but casting problems and time forced me into an alternate plan. In spite of the issues, I'm still quite pleased with this piece, which I produced as an aid for the Southwestern Coalition to End Violence, a group based in Stephenville and serving the south-western part of the province of Newfoundland.

Although the video has Canadian roots, it's message is universal. A young man is the target of bullying and homophobia, not just in his peer group at school, but also from his father. While he is haunted by the temptation of suicde, he learns there is help and finds the support he needs.

Since music videos don't have credits, I'd like to thank the talented people who made the video possible.
