Standing up for what's right; being brave!
One general rule of journalism is to remain objective and unbiased in our reporting and writing. But I don't think that means you can't stand up for what's just plain old common sense right.
The issue of bullying has been much in the news of late. And while we must be fair in covering a particular event or case, I think it's important that we also call a spade a spade and if something is just plain wrong, say so.
At the College of the North Atlantic, one Film and Video Production student, Adam Carroll (pictured above), produced a commercial that speaks out against bullying. The 'actors' appearing in the spot are fellow students, many from the Journalism program. Hats off to Adam and his crew for a job well done.
